Snow, snow, snow. We've had way too
much this year.
I continue to play dulcimer on most Saturday afternoons
at Celtic Treasures. Jim and Amanda went to Wintergrass
in Bellevue, too bad I wasn't able to join them. Maybe
next year. Luckily, St. Pats will bring lots of Irish music
gigs my way. My favorite new tunes (on both dulcimer and
concertina): The Wexford Mayfly and The Leaping Trout!
Phillip
Price has a new CD, "In Dublin Town". The release
party will be March 9, 6:30 -8:30 p.m. at UAA Student Union
Building. I may drop in briefly at the start, seeing as
I recorded a couple of tracks for him on concertina, but
I have to play for Dancing Bears that evening.

Cold, cold cold. It was a cold
month indeed. But now it's getting above zero. Must
have been all that hot music at the Anchorage Folk
Festival.

Happy New Year! The parties
are winding down. It's been a wild month with lots
of wind blowing, lots of snow falling, and I spent
a lot of time holed up indoors playing "words
with friends" (except when I was out partying,
or shoveling snow. Jim and Amanda made a fabulous
trip to Anvik, where they taught music and juggling
for an entire week. Check out the YouTube that
Jim made. It includes a recording of Amanda playing
her fiddle during the trip.
